THE ADRESS
At Adrians service I was asked to
give the adress(last greating). I know that Adrian he was
proud of me while doing it. He was proud of us all on the
sadden day. Some people asked me to put my adress on the
site and here you have it...
Hejsan, Hello, Hey.
My name is Glenn and I'm one of
Adrian's friends from Sweden.
I thought it was going to be hard to
get up here and talk up the man who just would’t stop
talking. Well, what am i supposed to say? What haven’t he
already said himself?
Well if it was that important he would have left us a note
with complete instructions with every single little detail.
Of course I could stand here for hours and hours and dwell
about all the amazing stuff that he achived. Adrian was a
great man:
Not because he could fly, cause he actully could, how else
can you end up in the Guiness book of records for having
acchived the world longest freefall.
Adrian was a great man, not because he used to be the eye
in the sky at capital,
Not because he jumped the Da Vinci chute, he even jumped
over the wall of china.
Adrian was a great man, not because he was on the front
page of the Wall Street journal.
Not because all of his work with Help a London child and
the Stoke Mandeville Special Olympics.
Adrian was a great man, not because he was a licenced cave
and technical diver. He even where a pilot for both
aeroplanes and helicopters.
He wasn’t great because he skydived and landed on top of
the northpole(one of the few jumps he was wearing shoes)
Alright, all of these things made him a truly remarkable
man but...
He was a great man because he was a true friend, my
friend, he was our friend.
He made us all do stuff that we never ever would have
gotten around to do if it wasen’t for him. When you vi sit
the dreambook on the internet you realise just how many
people he touched, moved and inspeired.
Whenever asked how come he got to be so inspirational, he
always gave the same answer. Growing up I was always lead
to belive that I could do anything... anything at all,
even if it was flying around just like Peter Pan i knew I
could do it.
Adrian may have acchived many great things.
But the greatest thing of all was Ella.
He was searching for so long and eventully he found
completeness.
A lifetime partner, a great house and now the perfect
child.
He was always playing around with the kids and now finally
he got to experience it him self. The joy of having a
daugther, the true feeling of being a proud father.
Yesterday when Ella had her first birthday I’m sure he was
standing outside watching us all, barefoot of course like
always, smiling, chering and singing with us.
Seeing us all the last couple of days over in the little
cottage would have made him so proud.
Together, laughing, crying, talking, remembering and
celebrating. If anything good should come out of all this
I do hope that it is people uniting and not dividing and
drifting apart.
Adrian told me that I had to meet his nephue little
Stephen a great little chap, well now i have meet him and
Yes he is a great little chap. Yesterday he even called me
the cool guy. Well Adrian belive this, I will meet him
again, I will meet the family again. Since I’m now part of
of it. And they all truly are just as great as you always
painted them out to be.
United we are strong, united we will remember.
Im sure that Adrian is crusing around in heaven with
Patric, stopping of at granny for tea, (even once in a
while, he is out looking for the dead parrot.)
So i guess Adrian that this is our goodbye, see you soon,
hej då .....averua...
I have allways been so proud of being one of your friends,
I will never forget.
Thanks for forcing me to eat sushi.
Thanks for showing me the shuttle launch.
Thanks for introducing me to red wine.
Thanks for opening my eyes.
Thanks for saving my life.
Thanks for making me live my dreams.
You truly where one of the greatest men I have ever met.
_______________________________________
So eventually the thing I last
expected happened. There was no way I thought that I would
be sitting down writing on a page like this. Just only a
couple of weeks before Ella’s first birthday.
My thoughts are with Katarina and Ella. I’m so grateful
that I got the opportunity to be part of your life and I
truly do feel blessed for being one of those who can call
you one of my friends.
I don’t know what to say… not now, maybe in a couple of
days or so.
All I can say right now is thank you for making me a
better man and thank you for believing in me and showing
me a greater life.
At least until things have settled down. Right now it is
all unreal.
Please do raise that glass of wine in memory of Adrian and
please do remember him by being just as safe as he tried
to teach you all to be.
